Khun Pat admits that when she first arrived she was really shocked, because the city was SO quiet — she started wondering whether she'd made the right choice to move here. It was so different from the picture of life abroad she'd imagined. But once she settled in and got out to meet more people, her feelings slowly changed. To her, Adelaide is a lovely, peaceful city with good weather, and the Thai community here is so kind and supportive. Best of all, with so few distractions around, some days there was nothing much to do — so she ended up putting her energy into studying instead. It turned out this city actually helped her focus. From being afraid she'd be lonely and bored, she now sees Adelaide's quietness as a real advantage that lets her commit fully to her own goals.
