คุณปุ้ย คนไทยใน Adelaide เริ่มต้นจากการทำเค้กไม่เป็นเลยสักอย่าง อาศัยฝึกเองซ้ำ ๆ อยู่ไม่กี่ปีจนฝีมือจัดจ้าน แล้วตัดสินใจส่งขนมอบสไตล์ตะวันตกเข้าประกวดใน Royal Adelaide Show งานแฟร์ใหญ่ประจำปีของรัฐ SA ผลคือกวาดรางวัลมาหลายหมวดในปี 2019 จนได้ออกรายการ SBS Thai เล่าเส้นทางและแนะนำคนที่อยากเริ่มหัดอบขนมว่าให้ลงมือเลย ไม่ต้องรอพร้อม

From not knowing how to bake a cake to a champion sweeping dessert prizes at the Royal Adelaide Show
Khun Pui, a Thai person in Adelaide, started out unable to bake a single cake. They relied on practising over and over for a few years until their skills became sharp, then decided to enter Western-style baked goods into the Royal Adelaide Show, the state of SA's big annual fair. The result was sweeping prizes in several categories in 2019, which led to them appearing on the SBS Thai program to tell their story and encourage anyone who wants to start learning to bake to just get started and not wait until they feel ready. Takeaway: A new skill in a foreign land can always start from zero — and a stage like the Royal Adelaide Show welcomes ordinary people to enter their work, a fun way for Thais to become part of the SA community.
